It’s hard to describe the whirlwind costume changes, unparalleled stage presence, and glowing, surrealist sets of a Lady Gaga concert. Wisely, Misty Madonna Hays didn’t try; instead, she captured Lady Gaga’s show at St. Louis’ Fox Theater in photographs. Specializing in music, fashion, and beauty photography, Hays has also shot Kanye West, Ben Folds, and Jason Mraz in concert, and her various photojournalistic shots and fashion spreads have earned her publication in everything from Meuse Magazine to the front page of the Murray State News. Hays also shoots civilian portraits, drawing on her bachelors and masters degrees in photography to craft artful shots in her signature style of bright colors and funky pastels reminiscent of a Versace Easter egg.
