Make an appointment ahead of time, because they book up fast (and I can see why!) Very friendly staff, had a great experience
The real deal. True quality, great atmosphere. Fun and well priced gift and jewelry items. Tammy, the owner, does an amazing job. If you want the best in New Canaan, this is it.
Lovely atmosphere. Very clean. Delightful workers.
Only suggestion would be a drying station. I was in hurry to run to next appointment and was drying nails in car with my vents. I still smudged a bit. :((
A lovely salon with very personable technicians
A wonderful experience!!
Love the base and top coat that is used. Makes manicure and pedicure stay on longer. However, their manis and pedis are more expensive than most places and it's hard to get an appt bc of shorter hours (ESP on Wednesdays).
Lovely ladies workin there!
Not friendly. Did not make me feel welcomed, offered coffee but only had powered milk. YUK. Did not give the feeling, they are a high-end establishment. Used numerous group-ons at much better establishments.
I would not return for the following reasons: 1) very limited hours -not convenient for working women; 2) at full price, services are overpriced; 3) services performed were adequate - a "spa pedicure" had nothing to distinguish it from a regular pedi; 4) for a very small shop, the atmosphere was surprisingly unwelcoming.
I had a mani/pedi and the supposedly long term experienced manicurist clipped my nails so closely that it clipped the skin of my finger and toe actually causing bleeding. I didn't say anything though I should have and now, many days later, they are still painful. I'm afraid of getting a contagious disease if the clippers were not sterile. I'll never go back there again. And how can The Nail Retreat respond to my message except to deny they have done anything wrong?
