About Skate Zone

Kids and parents zoom around the red-walled rink of Skate Zone, which provides a fun, safe atmosphere where children aged 3–12 can learn to skate. The facility's training walkers and specially designed tile floors help little ones to gain their skate-legs and minimize the pain of tumbles without the superhero-angering effects of donning an inflatable suit. Groupon customers will also receive 10% off skating lessons for toddlers and beginners. Adjacent to the rink lies a game room stuffed with token-operated amusements such as video games, dance machines, and alley bowlers. The fun center also helps kids to celebrate the day of their wrapping-paper windfalls with birthday packages, including skating-rink games and activities.

Website said they closed at 8pm, arrived at 5:15pm. The rude worker hid behind the counter, had to search around to find him. After asking for access to the skate part, he said, "well, we close at 6pm." Not nice or anywhere near friendly. Will never go again.

Overall a lackluster experience - very small rink, boring atmosphere. The staff was competent but not super friendly. This was our first visit - we had only been to Skate City in Overland Park in the past. The rate there is actually cheaper $7 including skate rental for a session, they make sure you have fun - games, special songs, etc., and have a much bigger and better rink. We won't be back.

This was awful it was way too young for my eleven year old. The speed skates weren't available for the kids since they were all rented out for a birthday party. This should be labled as an 8-year and younger event. My eleven year old was WAY TOO OLD. I would really like my money back. It was awful.

The rink was about as big as my living room. The staff was more interested in flirting with one another and playing on their phones than assisting customers. Looked kind of run-down. Probably would not go back. It would be ok as an add-on to the video game side, but definitely not an exclusive outing for a child. I bought this thinking that my 7 year old daughter and I would have a fun skating outing. My fault- I should've checked it out beforehand. We "practiced" there for about 30-40 minutes and then left to go to Skate City in Overland Park. Much better skating rink.

We were disappointed that several of the machines in the game area were not working properly or stole our tokens. At least 3 of the machines that we went to also didn't dispense tickets as they should. The skating area had an odor which made us wonder how well they disinfect the skates.

It was a small, dinky rink that is overpriced. I would never come back. The skates weren't as nice as the ones at Skate City. My son said that the skates were too high and hurt his legs. (He's 8 and wears a size 5.)
