Excellent service and delicious food. Rest is in a lovely section of Saybrook we ate outside the inside had the air cranked much too high it was freezing the outside was perfect.

The Red Hen is one of our favorite shoreline drinking and dining establishments. We usually choose to sit at the bar on our evenings out as we find we meet the nicest people, and at Red Hen we love the company of Mary, the bartender; she is a delight!. The food is consistently good and their menu has one of my favorite dishes of all time, cacio etc pepe (cheese and pepper) pasta.

This is a cozy, comfortable restaurant conducive to conversation and great food. The tapas menu is varied allowing guests to sample several tasty dishes. The happy hour half price cocktails were well made and refreshing. Sitting at a table near the window provides lots of people-watching entertainment. And the service was outstanding (Josie!).

We love Red Hen, great friendly atmosphere and great food! We like to sit at the bar, we are new to the area and we love talking to new people and there is quite a few regulars so see some new friends!
