Before going to this establishment I called and asked how long of a wait time before being seated and was told by Robbie that it would be 30 minutes. Once I arrived there the waiting time became two hours . So, my daughter and I took this time to stroll down and observe the sights on South Street. It was a very comfortable evening out so that was nice. This was our girls night out. Once we received the call that our table was ready it was about 9:00 p,m. (about an 1 1/2 hour wait). The atmosphere was very quaint and cozy. The waitress Reese was very nice and the food was actually pretty good. My daughter and I both had the fried chicken, and collard greens. I went with the mac and cheese and she went with the blackeye peas. To my surprise my daughter liked the blackeye peas. Everything was pretty good and we will definitely go to Ms. Tootsie's again.

Host attempted to sit us (and other arrivals) beneath a slanting stairwell where there is no headroom for anybody above 48 inches in height. We were reseated when we requested. Food was fine and reasonably priced. I loved my fried chicken pieces and cabbage and peppers; my wife enjoyed her large (yet classified as an appetizer) salad. Service was prompt at 6:30 on a recent Friday evening. Note: It's very easy to go wild with fancy cocktails with fancy prices, but if you use some self control (wine $7 per glass; domestic beer $5) two people can get out of there happy and satisfied for about $50 or so. Waitress (Ray/Raye, Rae) was very friendly. Nice experience overall. I would go back.

Had a great time

The wait time was to long ( 3 hrs. ) Maybe because they had two reserved party's going on at same time, leaving only a small dining area for all others. The food was nice and hot and the Chicken wings were so Big. (yummy) Brought two friends, they enjoyed the food.

We had a fantastic experience. The food was excellent and the service was even better. It was our first visit, but we'll definitely be back.

Wait was too long, food was under-whelming.

The wait time was to long and they should have had chairs or a bench outside while waiting. However, the food was very good. Thanks
