The docent that provided the tour was AWESOME! She had such enthusiasm, really knew her history/facts and could really tell a story. It's an unusual place but highly worth one's time if you like history, books, and stories. I love to read but am not at all into collecting books but I still found it all fascinating. The museum also stages temporary exhibits too. The house museum is located in a central city residential area full of old beautiful townhomes. It's a nice area to walk around and not far from the bigger name tourist stuff. I walked there from my AirBnB. Seems like only street parking was available but I'd check the website to be sure. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful museum and a bit of Philadelphia history that is not well known. I would recommend looking for their hands on tours along with the basic tour. This is a must-see for book lovers.

I really enjoyed my visit there and the docent that gave the tour was knowledgeable and engaging. There are some very special items in the collection there at the library as well as Philip's collection.
