Q&A with Juan, Owner And Head Instructor

How is your approach different than that of other professionals in your field?

My approach is different than others, because I developed and trained people in functional hand-to-hand tactics for the U.S. Army Rangers and the 82nd Airborne Division. I served 24 years in the military and my tactics and curriculum have been used in real world situations.

We're dedicated to giving students the highest-quality martial arts training in disciplines such as Jeet Kune Do, Kali-Escrima-Silat (Filipino martial arts), Thai Boxing (Muay Thai), Combat Submission Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We feel that change is necessary through constantly searching for ways to improve one’s martial arts abilities.

Do you or your staff have any special certifications or degrees?

I am a Full Certified Instructor under Dan Inosanto (Bruce Lee's Protege), and hold ablack belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?

I started training in martial arts at the age of 5. I've developed my curriculum over the years, and founded Combatives Unlimited in 1995.
