About Little Bear Golf Club

Little Bear Golf Club challenges golfers to part with the traditional 9- or 18-hole course paradigm and try their hand at conquering a 10-hole, par 30 layout. With a front and back five that can each be completed in about 40 minutes, the course caters to those who would like to squeeze in a round during their lunch break or set the record for most rounds played during a solar eclipse.

Though short in time commitment, the course doesn't scrimp on hazards, as it is strewn with 22 sand traps, more than 1,000 trees, three lakes, and a stone waterfall. Instead of natural turf, players take shots off hybrid grass, which looks and plays just like the real thing but needn't be watered, fertilized, or fine-tooth-combed like traditional grasses. As a bonus to the 10-hole loop, players may also take a shot at the island green of an 11th hole, an homage to the famous 17th hole at the TPC Sawgrass course in Florida.

Course at a Glance:

  • 10-hole, par 30 course
  • Total length of 1,350 yards from the back tees
  • Scorecard

Great Par 3 course in the middle of Lewis Center. Tees and greens are 'carpet'. So, it's like hitting off driving range mat and putting at miniature golf. Perfect for my young son to learn to play. Perfect for me to practice my short game. The island green is a neat feature.

Great little course to spend time with beginners. Tees and greens are synthetic so no ball marks or divots to worry about. Greens are pretty fast and don't hold shots that would normally hold on real greens.

Even though this is a short par 3, know your clubs and your distances with them! If you want to stick the greens, you MUST get the ball up in the air. Anything less and you'll be rolling off the back by a good way. Very testing.

Nice little practice course; reminds me of the par 3 course I grew up going to.

Enjoyed it. Had not golfed for quite awhile, so it was challenging. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly. I plan to go there again.

Grounds maintinance could be better. Cart paths need to be nicer or be there at all. No ball washers or sand trap rakes. $1.50 for a can of soda is rediculous.

Greens are unrealistic but still a good way to practice. Better than the range.
