About Penny Lane Pub

A savory cottage pie on a table amidst tall bookcases, stained glass, and a fireplace—it's a scene that captures the idyllic charm of dinner in an English manor. Combine that with the British phone box outside Penny Lane Pub's entrance and the fact that nobody drives on the right side of the road within the pub, and it's almost as if diners have accidentally crossed the pond and stumbled into the Yorkshire moors. But their feet are indeed firmly planted on Virginian soil; it's the emblems of England that have embarked on transatlantic travel. Ever since 1979, the minds behind Penny Lane Pub have meticulously recreated England's atmosphere and flavors to share everything from their love of fish 'n' chips with housemade beer batter to football played with the feet. And this love spreads from the stately main dining room to the courtyard with its ornate fountain and the upstairs bar with its darts and billiards.

There, between games, patrons enjoy everything from the Will and Kate plate—cornish pasties and sausage rolls—to a pint of their favorite lager. In addition to meals and beers, there are weekly rounds of karaoke, special early openings during English football season, and other events that transpose the charisma of the United Kingdom.

Well loved place to enjoy a night out on the town, or lunch with the whole crew! A Richmond tradition for a pint and to watch fine football!

The food here is truly unique and delicious. The only downside is that on return trips you have to avoid the temptation to order the same thing because it’s all really good. I recommend the “English Sailor” to start.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Parking could have been a problem but there was plenty available on-street on the weekend.

Good food and service, have enjoyed my time here on multiple occasions. Only downside is all them Liverpool fans, though that's my very biased opinion ;) None the less, would recommend for food, drink and atmosphere! A great time.

Great destination spot in Richmond. The decorations alone could keep you busy for hours the service was friendly knowledgeable about the menu and prompt. Lots of English offerings on the menu some had the beef pie which they thought was delicious. I had the Beckham and Owen which was good but I didn't get the pork roll they put two of the beef pastries so I was little disappointed with that that
