Because of all the construction in downtown Richmond, we had a difficult time finding the place. We should have entered the museum address in our search device rather than the remote parking lot. We eventually found our destination and parked in the very convenient lot across from the visitor entrance.
Once inside the museum was interesting, and the guide through the attached home was very enjoyable.

Very nice museum in the heart of Richmond. They offer free parking (thru validation) in the lot next door. It was fun to learn all about the Valentine's and their famous Meat Juice. We did the tour of the Wikham house but could not see the glass house because of the high winds. They also have a great gift shop with very unique items.

Knowledgeable personnel and Jennifer was very pleasant and helpful. The museum is well designed and displayed. Only one comment: in the movie room about the people's stories of being born into slavery, the benches did not have arms and older visitors need benches with arms to help them rise from the sitting position. Such a small thing but having a couple of actual chairs would have been helpful. Wonderful experience! Cafe was very good too!
