When David C. Magee and Robert W. August founded LaserWash TouchFree CarWash in 2003, they brought a collective 60 years of corporate experience. David helms the company, and Robert draws on the knowledge he gleaned during his time as the senior vice president of Monro Muffler, making them a veritable Jordan-Pippen combo, though shoe stores might not carry their signature kicks, which would be grease-splattered boots.

At their 13 LaserWash locations, the duo offers car-wash packages facilitated by an automatic LaserWash G5 process. As roadsters progress through a wide bay free of tracks to follow, a series of large signs directs drivers through each step. The LaserWash adjusts its size to fit vehicles up to 7 feet tall by way of ultrasonic and infrared sensors. It also uses less water and electricity than typical car-wash equipment, along with pH-balanced and biodegradable soaps and waxes. After the undercarriage wash removes salt, sand, and damaging contaminants from car bellies, the triple foam polishes paint jobs and the clear-coat protectant shields autos from acid rain, UV rays, and icy glances. Once exteriors are clean, coin-operated vacuums, shampooers, and fragrance misters await car owners, who can scour their car interiors until they sparkle both inside and out.
