I moved here to Sacramento from Texas two years ago. Since then, we have found a shortage of great ice cream in California, as southerners know how ice cream should be - thick, rich, full of flavor and made with HEAVY cream. After trying many places, we fell in love with What's the Scoop ice cream. Their ice cream is delicious and reminds me of home. It is very reasonably priced, very family friendly, they have a great selection of flavors, and the staff is always a delight as well.

The owners are super-friendly. Took my grandson for an excellent report card and the owner gave him a little bit extra. this time my nieces and I got there three minutes after closing and he let us in! Plus, they serve Gunther's ice cream! I love this place.
