About Twilight Turkey Trot

Just as the sun begins to sink, the Twilight Turkey Trot commences. In the waning light, participants run or walk 5 kilometers through Forest Park with fellow fitness enthusiasts. After all, the goal of the race isn't to win, but rather to foster a community that pays close attention to wellness. That's why the Turkey Trot's profits support local fitness activities and nurses. A portion of the race funds go to support the local charity, The Purposeful Nurse Foundation (501c3), which supports making fitness fun and supporting both the community and the nurses.

Nice smaller race through Forrest Park at a nice time of the day. this year I enjoyed walking with a friend who had never done a 5K before. I'm proud of her for completing it!

Course was great, but the race shirts are awful, prizes were only given to the top runners in two age groups (over 12 considered adult!). The race staff started the race 5 minutes early without warning because it was cold.
