Go later in evening, fewer people, not as many pushy parents trying to get their kids ahead of you. Also, go to the annex next door. Many more train sets, and some the kids can run themselves.

Plan on giving yourself a few hours, lots of people with young ones attending so it takes some time to get through, especially if bringing a young person with you. But very worth it, pretty amazing set up.
