About Northwest Aquatics

North West Aquatics (NWA) is committed to making swimmers of all ages feel more confident in the water. Its swimming curriculum is designed to appeal to all sorts of swimmers, from habitual dog paddlers to seasoned athletes hoping to compete on the national level. As such, classes run the gamut from Parent & Me 100 classes, which are designed for ages 0–3, to advanced lessons where swimmers master the breaststroke and butterfly. Non-swimming-related pool activities like lifeguard training, water polo, and hydra wrestling are also taught, and swim teams welcome new members, even those who can only swim once or twice a week.

The facility is older, but the swimming teachers are great with the kids and they have a fun rope swing.

They're not very good about calling people back but other than that they're great.

I was disappointed in the way that this facility wanted to teach my 3 year old daughter how to swim. She was put in the pool with no warning that she would not be able to touch the bottom of the pool, so basically was hanging on the side crying and screaming, trying to get out. This is how the whole lesson went. At the end of the lesson the instructor offered to put a "tot platform" in the pool for her next lesson so she could be in the pool and "touch the bottom". For her next lesson they put the platform in but she was still too scared and screamed that she was not going in. This would have been helpful for her first lesson and we could have avoided my daughter being traumatized.
