The University of Utah considers the blooms of spring flowers, the colors of fall leaves, and the greenery of winter pines to be public resources. With that in mind, the university oversees the Red Butte Garden, a community funded, non-profit outdoor attraction. Across its hundreds of miles, visitors find opportunities to view seasonal foliage or simply relax outside with a good book.

I love going to Red Butte Gardens especially for Garden After Dark. My family has been going there for years and to get a discount is a nice little treat.

It was such a fun, fun night! Plan on doing a lot of walking. Look at the map before it gets too dark, so you have an idea of where you are going! My kids ages 4 and 1 loved it!! I'm planning on doing this every year from here on out!

It's super dark so bring a flashlight or something, it can get a bit treacherous for little ones

You can dress yourself and your kids in Costumes, and make sure you have a CAMERA ready for all the cute Halloween photo opportunities:), very nice lighting and special effects!

Red Butte Gardens is such a beautiful place to take your family. The Garden in the Dark event was wonderfully done with many great vendors.

Garden After Dark is wonderful for kids to wear their costumes... A nice way to make all that money you spend on costumes worth it. It does get cold so either have them wear layers under costumes or bring a jacket for them.

What a beautiful gem in SLC...We frequent the garden often but this was our first time to Garden After Dark--what a fun family event! The staff and volunteers are friendly and informative--and the garden facilities are at their best!
