Float Matrix was one of the first Floatation cenetrs in San Francisco they openinged 15 years ago, recently has closed due to the rising rents of the city. Building owing raised the rent so high business could not stay open.
Definitely would try this again.
Amazing haven!
I have recommended it to all my friends.
Do yourself a favor and go! Allow some extra time to park and find it.
This is by far my favorite float therapy place! I love the ambience and the woman that was working was awesome, helpful, and really knows how to make you feel welcomed and relaxed. I like the dim lighting, opposed to the bright lights at another venue I visited. The infrared sauna really helps you relax before your float and get into the mood.
I really enjoyed my experience. The facilities are nice, it's located on the basement floor of the building.
The people working there were very friendly and accomodating. The experience was wonderfully relaxing even though the pod was somewhat small so I kept knocking against the sides. When I came out, I was painfree, something I haven't been for years. I recommend float matrix for deep relaxation and destressing.
The experience was very nice and relaxing
, but surprised that they did not require me to shower beforehand to keep the pod clean. Also, their location directions were too vague. Address is correct, but failed to mention they are in the basement of a homeless outreach office and you need to be buzzed into the locked building. It did not help there is no "Float Matrix" sign in the window and their phone kept going to voicemail.
This was my first float. I had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It is a great relief for jet-lag ! They also have great priced packages for additional floats!
When you are in the pod and you decide to sit up for any reason, keep your head back so the majority of the water falls down your back. If you get a tiny bit in your eyes, the wash rag they offer you does the job of relieving the sting
Just stay open minded...it will be great! Oh and don't try to drive; take public transportation.
