About Earthstone Pottery

Working with clay is both deeply meditative and creatively stimulating for Antara, who has been ceramic artist for 41 years. A skilled teacher with a masters degree in art therapy, she helps others access their own creative reserves at her pottery school, Earthstone Pottery. During wheel-throwing and hand-building classes, students work clay into both functional and abstract pieces, and those who opt for a six-week pottery series can follow their creations from conception to firing. Specialty classes that are centered around Native American pottery styles and honor traditions from the past, are also available.

The instructor is fun to work with If you like to take a complete piece home you might have to take couple of classes.

You don't get to go through the whole process as mentioned on the website. So yes, you get to learn, but you also go home empty handed. That said, it was a nice learning experience. She's an interesting teacher, impatient if you don't get it, but she does teach you. Someone should mention that you don't keep your work.

I was looking forward to the pottery lesson with my boyfriend, but Antara is just not the patient, fun, or even nice instructor you would expect to be teaching the class. Luckily, we were given free reign to play towards the end without the helicopter instructor. Would not go back even if the class were free.

Her instruction was good but i was extremely disappointed when she said we could not take any of the pottery home. Very misleading.

Only one pottery well for a class of two and you didn’t make anything to take home . The old lady had a barking doff during this session.

This person's got only the ability to work with 2 people at a time. This was not good for my teens. I ended up never able to book an appointment to use this with my family. Sucked!
