The winemaking process at Capoccia Vineyards & Winery is international in scope and thoroughly local in practice. The winery's owners draw on the rich tradition of their ancestors, who hail from Italy's grape-studded Lazio region. Instead of importing their fruits from far-flung locales, however, they only press New York grapes for their wines. The resulting vintages unite the best of the Old World and the New. The chardonnay, for instance, delights with notes of apricot and a buttery finish; the red Noiret, on the other hand, jolts palates awake with notes of pepper and distilled lightning bolts.
