Tell us about your business.

My name is Marsha T. Pipher and for the past 17 years, I have been a professional managing manicurist in prestigious spas around Northeastern Ohio. With my past experience, I was motivated and delighted to establish my own nail spa, Spa Parfairé, which means 'to perfect' or 'to complete' in French. My clients tell me that I am a perfectionist when I am servicing them, so I decided to showcase that behavior by creating a spa that will enhance their beauty by using "crème de la crème" products and techniques. I enjoy servicing my clients because I learn and become inspired by them everyday. I love what I do, not just because of its flexibility, but [because] it gives me a sense of taking care of someone and teaching them how to feel better about themselves. I believe in using excellent, top-notch, and natural products such as OPI, CND, Essie, SpaRitual, Phytocéane, Fléurs, Aveda, and Crabtree & Evelyn.

What is one of your signature services? How is it performed?

My signature service would be my spa pedicures. [I perform] the signature pedicure by [submerging] the client's feet...into a warm aromatic bath. [I then] shape toenails, remove loose cuticles, soften calluses, and exfoliate away dry skin. [I rehydrate]...skin, [give a] soothing calf and foot massage, and [apply] warm booties to penetrate emollients into their skin. [I] finish with their choice of OPI, Essie, or SpaRitual nail lacquer.

What steps do you take to make your clients feel at ease?

I like catering to my clients by making them feel comfortable during their service time. I believe in having a quiet, serene setting. I stimulate their five senses by playing relaxing music; having warm, soothing touches; aromatherapy scents; a healthy beverage of their choice; and creating a calm and beautiful atmosphere for them to view. I also try to remember interesting and unusual facts about my clients—lifestyle, career, personal life, hobbies—in order to make their service more enjoyable and personable.
