Mike Tarascio's life changed forever in 1981 when a business partner offered him a ride to a conference in New Jersey—not in a town car or on a tandem bicycle, but in a small private airplane. The very next year, Mike bought an airplane of his own and founded the business that would eventually become Ventura Aviation. Today, he, his wife, and their sons operate their business out of Republic Airport, where they use their fleet of Learjets, Piper Warriors, and a helicopter to train a new generation of skyborne adventurers. Their goal is to introduce clients to the limitless lifestyle and freedom that comes with personal aviation, and inspire others to make the life-changing decision to learn to fly.

I took my boyfriend here as a complete surprise. I have a severe fear of flying and I told him I was going with him. The pilot was great at calming me down when I got nervous. Even better, my boyfriend flew almost the whole time. We both loved it. Really happy I did this and have recommended it to many people.

Well worth the price! Even as the backseat passenger, there's so much to see. I can't imagine being the one to fly the plane. This was a great experience.

I took my boyfriend here for his first flight experience and we both had the time of our lives. We did the 2 hour lesson that flies over the Hudson and Central Park. The views were magnificent and he actually got to fly for a good amount of time. Our instructor, Max, was so confident and comfortable in the plane that we immediately felt in great hands. You could tell he really loved providing a great experience for us, which made the flight all the more fun. He is a skilled pilot and instructor, an excellent tour guide, and a super nice guy all around. I cannot recommend Ventura enough, every step of the process went smoothly, everyone we interacted with was incredibly nice and accommodating, and a flight lesson with views of NYC... that experience just cannot be beat!

Ilya was absolutely amazing and we very much enjoyed the 4 hour trip! Never thought we could get such great views of Manhattan! Would def go again!

My husband and I enjoyed everything about it. I was able to do about 80% of the flying (including take-off) for the First Flight Experience. Would recommend for everyone.

I bought this for my husband's birthday and he was super excited. The company was very flexible and helpful in scheduling the lesson; when we finally got there the staff was super nice, gave us a tour and explain the process. We met our instructor (Max is the amazing, big shout out from us), and we took off. We were very surprised and happy how much he got to actually fly. Highly recommended!!!!!!
