About Hair Stylist Laurie Smith

Laurie Smith has experienced a lot of things. She studied sociology and Asian cultures in college with an emphasis in the Chinese language. She worked as a security guard at high-risk locations. But she didn't discover her passion until she went into the beauty industry. She approached hair styling with the same energy and dedication as she had the rest of her studies, and graduated with honors from the Aveda Institute of Royal Oak.

Today, she straightens, extends, colors, and cuts hair of all textures. She uses products from her alma mater, Aveda, as well as industry professionals she finds inspirational, such as Paul Mitchell. More than the products or training, though, she believes her passion sets her apart, and helps her clients have a truly great experience in her chair.
