IKRA, Sunny Isles Beach3.820 reviewsAbout IKRA
It wasn't easy to assemble the culinary team behind Ikra—they searched all over Europe, ultimately bringing in chefs from Italy, Spain, and France. Fresh off a stint at the helm of Baoli Miami, French chef Patrick Kirchner guides them in building a pan-Mediterranean menu marked by starkly elegant presentation and tightly controlled fine-dining technique.
The fresh seafood flaunted in a display case in the dining room hints at the marine depths of the menu, which holds delicacies such as caviar, Kumamoto oysters, monkfish, and whole bronzino. There are also land-based options such as grilled truffle chicken, as well as homier Odessa specialties such as homemade herring with marinated onions and potatoes.
Ikra's menu is quite focused compared to the all-white sprawl of its environs. The restaurant lays claim to 15,000 square feet, encompassing a stage for live entertainment and plenty of room for dancing. There are special lounges for small-group karaoke or puffing out song lyrics in smoke rings from hookahs.
Grown-up as the ambience is, families don't need to leave the kids alone. Childcare staff oversee a playroom stocked with plenty of toys, where tots can work on identifying different grades of steak by smell.
