About Carnegie Cafe & Catering Co.

When Bill La Fleur decided it was time to open up a second restaurant, he enlisted the aid of his favorite chef in the world—his wife, Karen. Karen donned the chef’s hat and took charge of the restaurant’s kitchen, designing a menu of Italian and American dishes that have since been lauded by reporters from the Post-Standard. The skilled chef showers pasta in housemade sauces and hand rubs premium steaks in piquant, robust seasonings. To craft her old-fashioned fish-fry special, Karen breads fresh haddock before plating the crispy fillets alongside nests of fries and coleslaw.

First time at restaurant with my family, food was great, sweet potato fries for starters, main courses were excellent, especially salmon salad, baked mac&cheese, chicken, everything was really good, had a table by fire place, staff were very helpful, we look forward to visiting again.

I wish I would have discovered this restaurant sooner because the food was fantastic. Unfortunately the location at Maplewood Inn is closing.

The restaurant at the Maplewood Hotel is closing so we were allowed to go to the one on Route 57.

The dining room was a little more informal than we expected, and attached openly to a bar area where patrons could be seen from your table. To be fair, we read about the restaurant after having been to the sister restaurant on Co Rt 57, and were expecting much more of an Italian menu. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered, the food was very good, and portion sizes were such that, unless you have a huge appetite, it meant you would be taking home leftovers. This might not be great, if the food isn't worth it, but it definitely would. It is kind of out of the way for us, and my husband had his heart set on Yankee Pot Roast, which he ate at the other Carnegie Restaurant.
