About Laura Fairman Photography

Laura Fairman got her start in photography about eight years ago, when she began taking pictures of live bands. Although she went on to study photography and film development, she considers herself to be mostly self-taught and often follows her instincts rather than relying on textbook poses or cardboard cutouts to replace nonphotogenic subjects. As a result, she often captures images that are uniquely representative of a particular client or experience.

Though Laura operates out of a small studio space, she prefers to hold her family, couples, and children’s photography shoots outside or in a client’s home to create a more natural impression. For one of her more unusual offerings—custom fantasy shoots—she helps clients channel a favorite celebrity, pinup girl, or Halloween monster with hair, makeup, and costume styling.
