Designed by Dr. Cindy Helberg Ed.D.—an educator with 28 years of experience in the field and a doctorate in education leadership—the Reading for Kids program promotes literacy for children of all ages. While each tutor follows a tried and true curriculum, they also adapt the specific exercises to each child's needs. For example, they tailor their lessons to suit visual or auditory learners, as well as kids who suffer from dyslexia or ADHD. These 55-minute sessions typically take place once or twice a week, and rely on parental support. This ensures that students do their practice activities between classes, whether it's a reading exercise or spelling the word "vegetable" every time they eat one.
