make it clear on website that it is a bar so no minors as we had to do take out cause we brought our son. we had been to one in yaletown and that did have a restaurant area so we assumed that the Academic did as well.

Yes, I was there for lunch and there was only one waitress and she was run off here feet and broke down in tears, the poor girl. There was no bartender either. She was doing everything. There was another man there who appeared to be a boss, however, I would have thought he could have helped out. I understand these things happen, but the majority would not be as tolerant, particularly when one has liminted time for lunch. The food was good and we had lots of time.

Some servers forget about their customers and others and wonderful!

Great Brunch, lots of TVs for sports.

We went there Halloween night for a meal. We got there around 6:30ish, ordered some wine and food. Both our meals were outstanding. People started arriving in costume, and the party was on. We did not expect an organized event like this and we had so much fun watching everyone. I am glad we went there that particular night. We have been there before for a quick fish and chips dinner and Sunday brunch.

Food and service was great along with atmosphere. The only complaint I have is the fact that the managers still charged my sister for her meal after we found a spinach leaf in her salad when we had clearly stated prior to ordering that she has a spinach allergy.
