Enjoyed the exhibit on American artists. Though it is a small museum compared to some others in D.C., I was very satisfied with the number of works I saw and, more importantly, with the flow of the exhibit. I think it is a perfect place to visit followed by a nice lunch. Would definitely visit again.

We went on a Sunday right at their opening time and it was very nice to see the collection before the crowd arrived after lunch. For a smaller museum, it has a wonderful, eclectic collection of art. We also enjoyed seeing the early photos and reading about the history of the building. A bonus: at that time of day we were able to find street parking just a block away.

Always a great museum to visit. The permanent collection is excellent and if you can catch a special exhibit it's a bonus.

Take the metro. On-street parking is difficult.
