About Paulette Mertes Studios

Though Master Photographer Paulette Mertes usually poses her subjects, she captures them at moments that reveal their personality, such as during a smile, a wink, or a barely concealed laugh. Her photographs of adults, families, children, and pets glow with vibrant colors under high-contrast or soft-focus lighting. Paulette photographs babies, families, pets, and boudoir sessions in the comfort of her private loft. With 12-foot ceilings and windows that beckon in a flood of natural light, the loft charms subjects with its historic architecture, brick walls, and hardwood floors, yet its recent renovations also allow Paulette to capture photos with a modern edge. Paulette also goes on-location to capture children, students, and newlyweds frolicking across a park or doing their taxes in front of a gushing waterfall. During each shoot she focuses on the small details in addition to the picture at large, a technique that's earned her accolades such as Connecticut Professional Photographers Association's Portrait Photographer of the Year from 2009-2014.
