Florida Aikikai is one of the premier Aikido dojos in the USA. Chief instructor Peter Bernath Sensei, 7th dan, has been teaching Aikido for 35 years. We have 30 black belts, many of whom have trained for decades. We offer classes 7 days a week in a beautiful facility in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
It’s important to understand that training isn’t just about memorizing techniques. You are changing the way your body and mind respond to conflict and stress. Through practice you’ll become more alert, flexible, and centered. Focus on this and your movements will develop precision and power.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Peter Sensei trained under the direct students of the founder of Aikido. He has devoted his life to teaching Aikido and sharing its many benefits.
What do you love most about your job?
