Who is a candidate?

CoolSculpting is best suited for adults with pockets of stubborn fat that resist diet and exercise. It is NOT a weight-loss procedure. Treatment may not be appropriate for individuals with:

• Pregnancy
• Certain cold-related medical conditions
• Active skin conditions or infections in the treatment area
• Hernias
• Recent surgery in the treatment area
• Certain other medical conditions

Before your appointment

• Call the practice to schedule your consultation, which can be held at any of the four offices (Edison, Marlboro, Warren, or West Orange). Your CoolSculpting treatment is booked as a separate visit at the Edison office only, available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the day — appointments can typically be made within two weeks.
• Preparation is minimal: eat healthy meals, get adequate sleep (7–8 hours), and stay hydrated in the days before your appointment.

What to expect at your appointment

• Your provider confirms your candidacy at the consultation, walks through the eligibility criteria, and helps you choose which eligible area(s) to treat. If you’re not a candidate, you’ll receive a refund.
• During treatment, the applicator is placed over the target area for cooling. Most patients describe the sensation as a cold feeling, and treatment is generally comfortable.
• You’ll sign a waiver before your treatment begins.

After your appointment

• Return to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.
• Slight discomfort, itching sensation, redness, or numbness in the treated area is normal and typically resolves in the days following treatment.
• Results build gradually. Initial improvement is typically visible over the following weeks; most significant results at approximately two months. Your body can continue to metabolize the treated fat for up to six months.
