About Belle Grove Plantation
The Belle Grove Plantation is many things. A historic landmark. An award-winning bed and breakfast, event venue, and afternoon tea house. It's the birthplace of James Madison, America's fourth president. It's a sprawling estate set on 694 acres overlooking the Rappahannock River. The historic mansion was built in 1791 and restored in 1997. The mansion is 85% original. Each room contains period antiques "in their natural habitat". The historic Virginia landmark also makes a grand background for various events throughout the year, from festivals, historic house tours, weddings and other special public events. Belle Grove Plantation is considered one of the most haunted plantations in Virginia. Belle Grove Plantation can be seen on past episodes of SyFy Channel's Ghost Hunters (2014) and Travel Channel's Kindred Spirits (2019). Belle Grove Plantation welcomes private paranormal Investigations and conducts weekly public Ghost hunting tours.
