It is a wonderful museum! What kid of any age, doesn't love sharks and an aquarium you can walk beneath? My kid happens to love rocks so that exhibit was wonderful too. The rain forest and living roof were equally fascinating.

  • Size: There is a lot happening under the 2.5-acre living roof: walk past the massive T. Rex skeleton to see the 40,000 animals living in the aquarium, and check out the 90-foot glass dome rainforest, the 87-foot long blue whale skeleton, and more.
  • Crown Jewel: The Steinhart Aquarium, one of most biologically diverse and interactive aquariums on earth. Home to 40,000 living animals.
  • Eye Catcher: Claude, the beloved American alligator with albinism sitting on his rock in the Swamp exhibit.
  • Giants of Land and Sea: Experience Northern California's natural wonders hands-on: guests feel their way through an immersive fog room, try to hold their balance in an earthquake room, virtually climb the top of a towering redwood tree, and examine several native specimens and fossils.
  • Don't Miss: Our colony of African Penguin as they waddle, splash, and socialize with each other.
  • Venom: Fangs, Stingrays, and Spines. Learn how scientists are studying venom to harness compounds that could hold the key to curing human disease in our newest exhibit.
  • New Exhibit: Sharks open now through January 23, 2022. Don't miss this traveling exhibition created by Grande Experiences. Learn about one of the most awe-inspiring and misunderstood creatures on the planet and the critical role sharks play in ocean ecosystems around the globe.
