About A Chat with CAMP 510 (Community+Art+Make+Play)
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
At CAMP 510, our projects are carefully curated for each week, and are scaled to be developmentally appropriate for each age group of CAMPers. Equipped with the right tools in a participatory environment, the projects are led by professional artists & makers in the spirit of D-I-T (do it together).
What is the experience customers can expect?
CAMP 510 is a child-centered camp--CAMPers get to use real tools to create real things--whether it's cooking, paper-making, welding, sewing, wood-working, videography, or anything else! This is an intimate camp as well--with an adult to child ratio of 1:5
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
CAMP 510 was started by two maker-moms who were looking for an authentic making experience for their children. CAMP 510 was inspired by the Park Day Summer Arts Camp (which closed in 2011), and the East Bay Mini Maker Faire, which they help to produce.
What do you love most about your job?
