Four Kyokushin Karate Classes for Ages 13+

You will benefit of four classes of specific Kyokushin training which include warm up, stretching, basic hands and leg techniques, Kata, self defense bag work and conditioning. The classes will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:15 pm to 8:00 pm. (Each class last one hour and 45 min)

Sensei Nicolae Toma is the Chief Instructor of the Capital Kyokushin Dojo in Washington DC and the Washington DC Branch Chief for Kyokushin Kan International. Koykushin Kan is one of three internationally recognized Kyokushin federations and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Sensei Toma has been training in Kyokushin Karate for over 21 years and currently holds the rank of 4th degree black belt. He trains, and directs his school, in the teachings, techniques and spirit of Kyokushin’s founder Sosai Mas Oayma who passed away in 1994.

Although immersed in all aspects of Kyokushin Karate, Sensei Toma has focused on the renowned fighting aspects of Kyokushin. He has competed extensively in full contact kumite tournaments in both Europe and America including wide open tournaments such as the Sabaki Challenge held in the United States which allows all fighting styles to compete in the full contact arena, to traditional Kyokushin full contact tournaments in Romania and Moldavia.

His experience includes the following tournaments of national rank or higher.

1990, Romanian Kyokushin Full Contact Junior National Championship: 2nd place for kumite

1991, Romanian Full Contact Senior National Championship: 2nd place for kumite

On a personal note, Sensei Toma was born and raised in Romania, and came to the United States in 2003 and lives with his wife and daughter in Bethesda, Maryland. An avid martial artist his entire life, he also holds a black belt in Shotokan Karate and represented the East Coast Organization as a fighter in the US National Championships in 2005. He also has appeared in several movies and European TV shows where he was a stunt double for physically demanding and risky technical scenes.
