We visited CooperTown Airboat Rides as a fun day out on our "staycation". The staff were all super friendly and, even though I'm a Miami native, I learned quite a bit about alligators. It was done in a fun way, not all boring. The airboat ride was really fun and our guide was funny and informative. It was a really great day.

About Coopertown Airboat Tours

The Original Airboat Tour of the Everglades National Park, Coopertown Airboat Tours & Restaurant was established in 1945 by our founding father John Cooper. With over 75 years of experience traveling deep into the wetlands of the National Park, come and experience the River of Grass and the ecosystem our gators call home.

The airboats that depart from Coopertown head deep into the wetlands, where sawgrass covers the water and gators are plentiful. Guides point out a wide variety of wildlife, ranging from herons and turtles to endangered species such as the snail kite. For a more intimate encounter with nature, they also run private tours, voyaging into areas that are only accessible by smaller airboats. Tours typically culminate by the Coopertown restaurant and gift shop. There, guests can snack on the frog legs that started it all, or sample other swampland delights including gator-tail nuggets and catfish.
