About D-1 & Only Martial Arts Academy
Split Second Response is a unique entity. Split Second Response is a certified Bureau of Security and Investigation Services (BSIS), American Red Cross, and Health and Safety Institute (HSI) training center. We provide instruction in Martial Arts, Firearms, First Aid, and Security Officer training courses. For our martial arts / personal protection programs, we provide rank and age-specific classes for children, teens, and adults.
Our kids (3- to 12-year-old) classes focus on 1.) character development 2.) bully prevention 3.) fitness, and 4.) realistic self-defense that consists of situational awareness, threat assessment, Kickboxing and BJJ basics.
For our teens, we focus on 1.) character development 2.) practical and realistic self-defense that consists of situational awareness, threat assessment, de-escalation techniques, Kickboxing, Krav Maga, and BJJ basics 3.) fitness 4.) first aid training, and 5.) relevant life-skills (financial literacy, basic business principles, and leadership skills).
Our adult program is a holistic approach to personal protection and training. Our adults learn 1.) practical and realistic self-defense that consists of situational awareness, threat assessment, de-escalation techniques, Kickboxing, Krav Maga, gun and knife disarms, and BJJ basics 2.) fitness 3.) first aid 4.) basic, advanced, and tactical firearms training for home defense and concealed carry weapons (CCW) permit holders.
For firearms, we provide basic pistol, home defense, advanced pistol, and CCW permit certification courses. The unique feature about our firearms program is the fact that we provide every student with their own instructor at the range to ensure safety and to help them learn in a fun and exciting environment. Also, we provide Red Cross and HSI Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification courses.
Finally, for our Security Officer training and job placement program, we provide the BSIS mandatory 8-hour certification course, DOJ live scan, complete your online state application and submit the application fee on your behalf. We then reach out to local security companies that we’ve partnered with to help you find a job. Subjects that pass the interview process are usually hired with 2 weeks or less of completing our course.
