The Difference Between a Classroom and a Studio

An opportunity to master art technique like a professional Artist.

We are all familiar with classwork, when you come as an empty vessel to be filled, like math class, there is no self expression, you can't do it your way, and you follow instruction step by step till you get the desired result...all before the bell rings. Art, self expression, creativity, and imagination wither and die in the classroom environment.

A studio (or Atelier, as you say in French) is where Artists come to study art, which is a completely unique experience for every individual. Like true Artists, each Student Artist is encouraged to work with professional tools and materials, on their own unique piece, in their chosen medium, at their own unique pace. Instruction is also individualized, as the Instructor moves about the room she gently guides, encourages, and teaches technique, working case by case, challenge by challenge, allowing students time to experiment, and giving them direction to enhance their technique, per individual capability.

About Foxley Atelier Fine Art Instruction

A Brilliant Artist is just Waiting to be Discovered!

As a Child Adriana Foxley (In-House-Artist, instructor, and owner of Foxley Atelier) knew that there was a creative voice trying to find it's way out of her and into the world. Over the years she has continually sought out expert mentors as she studied art to acquire the techniques and practice necessary to express her individual Creative Voice. Her mission in opening her studio to the community is to inspire others (especially child artists) to find and express their own unique artistic voice, to communicate what they feel in their souls, and to help them fill the world with a more beautiful and honest perspective.

Working in an "atelier" (aka "studio") is a much different experience than what you find in your typical "art class". In the same way that the great master painters studied art under the guidance and critique of expert mentors, Foxley Atelier offers students a chance to truly study art technique and become masterful artists.
