Atlantic City, New Jersey: Casinos and Carnival Rides Lining Historical Beachside Boardwalk

No trip to Atlantic City is complete without a stroll along its signature boardwalk, which stretches for 6 miles along New Jersey’s eastern coast. Originally built in 1870 to keep sand out of hotel lobbies, the boardwalk grew in popularity as a place where you could drink and gamble during Prohibition without much trouble from the police, as depicted in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. The boardwalk is still popular for its casinos, but it’s family-friendly, too; visitors are just as inclined to sit at the beach or stop at one of the many carnival rides.

On the boardwalk, it’s worth it to check out the Absecon Lighthouse, which is more than 150 years old. It’s possible to climb its 228 steps to the top, which features sweeping views of the city skyline and the sea.

I left a birthday gift there by a mistake called they said someone was in the room someone will give me a call back no one ever did and when I called back no answer and into the next week and I was told it’s not there and that was that so where is it? I can’t see a guest even thinking it was something they could take or even want to take only housekeeping or someone who knew it was there..

The room in Bally's tower was much nicer than Dennis tower. The king bed room was roomy and had a large bathroom.

Nice rewards promo, but I experienced constant banging from doors and reconstruction; on windows and hotel room. The toilet squeaked every flush, and most employees unprofessional and abuse their authority.

The rooms smelled real bad it was very cold in the room and the my first room had period blood on the sheets. I had to change my room because of the horrible conditions. When I ask to change my room they gave ne a very hard tim. If I didn't take pictures of the period blood on the sheets, they probably wouldn't have changed my room. Very horrible experience. Choose any other hotel than BALLYS.
