Hotel at a Glance: 3-Star San Diego Bay Hotel

This 3-Star Hotel brings guests to the edge of San Diego Bay–attractions like a whale-watching marina and the district’s historic waterfront are a short walk away, while the rest of San Diego lies within driving distance. A short one-mile trip from the San Diego International Airport brings travelers to this 3-Star Hotel, where guests can take a quick break before heading out to enjoy the San Diego sunshine—along with the hotel’s outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, and putting course.

  • Relax a bit in the hotel’s king or queen size beds, and catch up on your favorite shows on the hotel’s flat-screen TV.
  • Cool off in the sun with the hotel’s outdoor pool, whether you’re floating on the water or soaking up the sun on the deck.
  • Grab a bite at the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast and lunch, or sip on an evening cocktail at the bar.
  • Wildlife, nearby: SeaWorld and The San Diego Zoo are a short, 15-minute drive away, while whale watching tours depart from nearby marinas.
  • Beachfront oasis: Waterfront kayak rentals and seafood restaurants just down the street make for a classic afternoon on the water.

San Diego, California: Electric Nightlife and Historical Attractions

San Diego’s sunny, comfortably warm weather and 70 miles of coastline have long attracted out-of-towners, but the city’s inland scene is no slouch, either. The Gaslamp Quarter is arguably the trendiest listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The area forms both the historic center of town and a hub of nightlife, with nearly 100 Victorian-era buildings occupied by high-end boutiques and gourmet restaurants.

A stroll through iconic Balboa Park takes you past 17 museums, as well as the world-famous San Diego Zoo. There’s also the vibrant Spanish Village Art Center, a living gallery where local artists produce pottery and oil paintings. In Old Town, shops in Mission-style stucco buildings sell colorful woven baskets and maracas. Nearby stands the Whaley House Museum, dubbed one of the Most Terrifying Places in America by the Travel Channel. Ghosts of former residents are said to inhabit the rooms, which are filled with Victorian furniture and eerie dolls.

It was a nice hotel, however the Bayside description was a little deceiving. There was a bay a walk aways, but there were no views of the bay because of the buildings and it for sure was not on the bay. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was nice and clean, but the bathroom was extremely small, as a smaller person myself, even I thought it was very cramped and a little hard to move in
