    The local currency is the Costa Rican Colón. Spanish is the official language, though English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

  • Age Requirements

    The minimum travel age is 21 years old, and guests must be at least 21 to check into hotels. Children 12 and under pay a reduced rate.
