The tour begins at the corner of Beach and Hyde Street, where the iconic Hyde Street cable car makes its turnaround. Guests meet here for an 8:00 AM departure in the fall and winter or a 9:00 AM departure in the spring and summer. Arriving 15 minutes early ensures time for introductions and a smooth start.
Following a quick roll call, the group boards a comfortable bus and sets off toward the first destination. Over the course of 7.5 hours, travelers are guided through the city’s most famous neighborhoods, hearing stories that highlight San Francisco’s rich diversity, history, and geography.
At several key stops, the bus pauses so guests can step out, capture photos, and take in the sights firsthand. A midday break brings the group to Sausalito, where they enjoy lunch in the charming waterfront town.
The journey continues with more than an hour spent exploring the breathtaking Muir Woods Redwood National Park, a chance to walk among the towering coastal redwoods.
As the adventure concludes, guests are dropped off at Pier 33 / Alcatraz Landing to embark on the official Alcatraz tour, rounding out an unforgettable full-day experience.

SF Excursions is 100% local, family-owned and operated tour company based in San Francisco. Brendan, owner and founder, has worked alongside his brother Dylan at Dylan's Tours for the past 7 years, showing thousands of visitors his version of San Francisco. Brendan's passion for traveling and seeing the world is the reason he loves showing off his beautiful hometown city.
3. What do you love most about your job?
I love my Job because I get to meet people from all around the world and show them the best city in the world..... a little biased for sure...
4. What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
I get guests all the time coming up to me after tours telling me that their husband or wife bought the tickets and they weren't too sure they would enjoy the tour. But after taking the tour they are always amazed by how much they see and history they learn about the city and also how fast time flies by. I also get a lot of guests saying it was a pleasure having a "young tour guide" with so much knowledge of the city and love for the city he grew up in.
