We recommend dressing comfortably, especially as the New Orleans City tour includes a guided stroll through the Garden District.
What is the check-in process for my tour?
Guests must arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time at 400 Toulouse Street and check in with a ticket agent at the Lighthouse Ticket Office, displaying your barcoded voucher.
Are food and drinks included in the tour price?
Food and drinks are not included, but there are opportunities to purchase items such as beignets and coffee at Café du Monde in City Park (for the City Tour) or snacks and beverages at the swamp tour and Plantation Cafe (for the Swamp and Plantation Tour).
What are the photography rules during the tours?
Photography is encouraged on the grounds and balconies of Oak Alley Plantation, and throughout the swamp tour. However, photography and video are not permitted inside the 'Big House' exhibit at Oak Alley Plantation, and electronic devices should be turned off or muted while inside.
What happens if it rains on the day of my swamp tour?
Swamp tours operate rain or shine, as the boats are covered. Tours are only canceled in the event of extreme weather conditions, such as lightning, and guests will be contacted if a cancellation occurs.
Are the tours suitable for guests with limited mobility or using wheelchairs?
Accessibility varies. Paved pathways in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden and an accessible bathroom at Cafe du Monde are available on the City Tour. For the Swamp & Plantation Tour, basic and motorized wheelchairs are permitted, but a wheelchair-accessible swamp boat must be requested in advance. The second floor of the 'Big House' at Oak Alley is not accessible, but a video tour is provided for those unable to climb the stairs.
