About Hygrade Deli
When Crain's Detroit's Brianna Reilly went with writer Nathan Skid to lunch at Hygrade Deli, she swore it was one of the best reuben sandwiches she's ever had. Skid said that, "Hygrade truly is a time capsule from a different era. That experience alone was worth the trip."
A time-worn sign with peeling paint welcomes customers inside the deli, which features wood paneling on the walls and '50s-style chairs with metallic gold cushions. Hygrade has been featured on the Cooking Channeland Channel 7 Action News Detroit Gems 20/20 feature and was even the scene of a crime on the TV show Detroit 1-8-7.
