About Kilimanjaro Distillery

Mount Kilimanjaro rises 4,900 meters from its base, making it the tallest mountain not only in Tanzania, but all of Africa. Meanwhile, all the way across the Atlantic Ocean in the opposite hemisphere, the 4,000-square-foot Kilimanjaro Distillery stands as ode and homage to its founders' home and African heritage. The distillery houses Xplorer Spirits, owned by father-daughter team Kishor and Niky Chokshi, who hail from Tanzania and have traveled almost every continent in search of adventure. Kilimanjaro, then, represents the height of that quest, a place where Kishor puts his background in science and distillation to work, while Niky exercises leadership in social and environmental stewardship. To make their small-batch craft spirits, they source ingredients both locally and globally, from Tanzanian cinnamon for their Apple Pie Moonshine to Pennsylvania spuds that go into their potato vodka. They distill their Vodkas 12 times for utmost purity, ensuring a smooth finish with every bottle. They donate to the local Meals on Wheels of the Lehigh Valley with a portion of their profits, they help provide clean drinking water through the Tanzania Water Project, and the distillery acts as a drop-off location for donations on behalf of Second Harvest Food Bank.
