About Luvie Wines

My great-grandmother, Luvie Johnson Thomas, was born on May 10, 1899, in Beulah, Mississippi, to William Fisher Johnson and Fathia Jackson Johnson. She lived a long, full life until January 1, 1990. Together with her husband, Albert Thomas, she raised eight children and helped shape a strong, close-knit family.

Now, as her great-grandson, I’m honored to carry on her legacy through Luvie Wines. What began as her homemade Elderberry Wine over a century ago has grown into something much bigger—but the heart of it remains the same. I’ve added my own twist to her timeless craft, creating a collection of award-winning, small-batch fruit wines that honor her memory and our family’s roots.
