About Marietta Museum of History

The Marietta History Center tells the stories of Marietta City and Cobb County with educational events, rotating exhibits, and three specialized galleries that focus on different facets of Marietta tradition: home life, general history, and the military. Along with these permanent spaces the MHC hosts temporary and traveling exhibits from around Georgia. The Center hosts more than 90,000 visitors annually and is the focus of historical interpretation in Marietta. Our General History gallery features stories of Native Americans, their tools, and industry in Cobb. Guns, shells, and uniforms line the cases in the Military gallery, which tells stories from the Civil War, World Wars I and II, and Vietnam. The Center's special exhibits rotate several times a year, with themes which features Marietta's diverse history. The Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm. End of Description.
