Frequently Asked Questions

What is PiezoWave/Shockwave Therapy?

PiezoWave is a brand name for Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT). It is a non-invasive and FDA-approved treatment used for a variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries.

How does shockwave therapy work?

ESWT delivers pressure waves beneath the skin to targeted injured tissue. These waves decrease inflammation and regenerate healthy tissue by boosting blood flow and collagen production, triggering the body's natural healing process.

What conditions are commonly treated?

PiezoWave effectively addresses several acute and chronic conditions, including:

  • Tennis and Golfer's Elbow
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Achilles Tendinopathy
  • Bursitis
  • Calcific Tendonitis
  • Patellar Tendinopathy
  • Shin Splints
  • Trigger Points
What to expect during treatment?

Your therapist will review your symptoms and medical history to confirm PiezoWave therapy is suitable for you. After pinpointing the pain area, a conduction gel is applied to help transmit the waves. A specialized probe is placed against your skin to deliver the therapy.

At the end of the 10–15 minute session, the gel is removed and you can immediately resume your daily activities.

Ask your technician about optional wearable technology add-ons that continue the healing process and required aftercare procedures between sessions.
