About Money Museum

As the home of one of the largest coin archives in the country, the Money Museum gives a whole new meaning to the term "priceless collection." In the three main galleries, guests will discover every type of gold coin minted in the United States from 1795 to 1933, the fascinating story of the French Revolution's Assignat notes, and the way that coins used to be produced at the museum's Mini-Mint. The museum—which is run by American Numismatic Association—also offers a temporary home to special exhibits such as a display of Depression-era bank notes and an exhibit on how the issuing of money by both sides affected the Civil War and the future of the American financial system.
