Care Highlights

Light

Provide bright, indirect light. A few feet from a sunny window or under a grow light is ideal. Avoid direct, intense sun, which can scorch them.

Watering

Water air plants weekly; mist terrarium plants 1-3 times. If dry, soak for an hour. Always dry completely after watering to prevent rot.

Misting

Mist your air plant 2-3 times per week, ensuring the entire plant is wet but not dripping excessively.

Soaking

For a more thorough watering, soak your Tillandsia in a bowl of room-temperature water for 20-30 minutes once every 1-2 weeks.

Drying

After misting or soaking, always shake off excess water and allow the plant to dry completely within 4 hours to prevent rot, especially at the base.

Air Circulation

Good airflow is essential for air plants to dry properly after watering and remain healthy.

Temperature

Thrives in average room temperatures, between 60-80°F (15-27°C).

Fertilizing

You can fertilize monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a bromeliad-specific or very diluted all-purpose liquid fertilizer added to their soak water.
